Episode 038
We have all been thinking about 2021, setting intentions, declaring outcomes and goals, practicing new habits, and being in action. In addition to making declarations, we are going to talk about what goes hand in hand with declarations and creating more of the results you want, and that is being in ownership of and for your choices. It is not uncommon for people to shy away from one of the most important principles of being a leader and that is accountability, why is that? Often accountability is associated with blame, fault, circumstances, I can go on and on. We often hear “who’s accountable for this, which can immediately have us shrinking in our seats because it triggers a feeling of “I’m in trouble. It’s like someone is pointing a finger, yikes. In today’s episode let’s bust that myth right now, because in the world of leadership coaching Accountability is actually one of the key tools that is the most impactful. Episode 037
With Kit Cole On today’s episode, we have a super fun guest, and we are going to be talking about how to do the things you set out to do even if you don’t like it, don’t feel like it, or don’t know how. How many of you made resolutions? What is a resolution? Essentially it is a decision. Something you resolve to do usually stemming from a problem, and here's the thing YOU are not a problem. The thing about resolutions is they don’t typically stick, you know the ones that we make New Year’s Eve? Those ones! Think about this, in the past when we were able to go into gyms, they were jam-packed on January 1st because we have made resolutions for our health. And then a funny thing happens, come about 1/21 – 1/27 those very gyms are starting to clear out. You can actually find a parking space in the lot and can easily get on a machine or in a class without much waiting. I challenge my clients to make Declarations. Declarations are rooted in choice, and reconstitute our relationship with what was to what we want. They also are backed with action and time specific. Change your resolutions into declarations, kick it up a notch and make them weekly and see what shifts in your life. It's powerful! Today our guest Kit Cole will be spilling the beans on her secrets to success in doing the things we set out to do even when we don’t feel like it. Here are the highlights from this episode: {7:17} Introducing Kit Cole {9:58} Kit's secret formula for creating success in your mind {15:38} The power of asking for help {17:15} Reducing friction to instill good habits {20:02} Your commitment to putting good habits in place {25:37} Holding two opposing thoughts in your head at the same time in order to get things done you don't want to do {33:08} The changes Kit has seen since implementing her strategies We are thrilled that we are a finalist for the PFB Awards in both the Best Entrepreneur and Listener's Choice Categories.
