It's All About Excellence, Perfect Is So Overrated

Episode 010

How many perfectionists or recovering perfectionists do I have out there?  I am raising my hand as a constant recovering perfectionist!  I love this quote by Joyce Meyer “Strive for excellence, not perfection, because we don’t live in a perfect world” isn’t that the truth.  And, I can’t say this enough life is much more fulfilling when we strive for excellence, because we are continuing to learn, grow, create opportunities to make mistakes, take them, and not take ourselves quite so seriously.  Today we are going to lean in to our excellence, let go of perfection, and see what shifts in our personal and professional lives! Entrepreneurs, leaders, professionals, and self-improvement seekers get ready for more freedom and joy as you take the lead in your lives, because it’s all about excellence today!

Here are the highlights from this episode:

{0:50} Excellence versus perfection
{3:55} Failure as an opportunity
{5:44} Trust your talent and then develop skills
{7:41} Working smart VS working hard
{10:01} The attitude of excellence
{13:07} Excellence as a journey

Episode 007

We have been through some beyond challenging times of recent, and just when we thought we would come up for air, it got worse.  I feel called to explore Empathy Vs Sympathy, with the emphasis really being on creating empathy. Empathy has been and continues to be so wanted and needed right now in the world and I think collectively more seeking to understand before being understood would be such a great reminder.  I want to credit a great man Stephen Covey for introducing the world to seeking to understand before being understood, it’s such a powerful principle that helps us take the lead in our life, and also in creating empathy.  Entrepreneurs, leaders, professionals, and self-improvement seekers can use this in their day to day lives both personally and professionally, and we can all collectively lean into our empathy and connect much more in the world.

Here are the highlights from this episode:

{1:03} The need for empathy right now
{3:10} Being vulnerable
{4:21} Feeling validated
{6:28} Empathy not being about creating silver linings for people
{9:32} Calm as a superpower
{10:22} Questions to ask yourself
{15:24} Not having to be right
{17:25} A challenge for you

Episode 006

Does anyone still feel like they are on a teeter totter of being motivated to move vs what is actually happening during Covid-19? As the world begins to re-open bit by bit, it’s like coming out of some sort of hibernation in some ways.

The constant posts from “this is the time to do more, be more, create more” to “don’t buy into the you need to be more” posts are enough to make one dizzy. Which way do we go?

There is meaning we will all make up for ourselves or have made up for ourselves during this time, and we will at some level reinvent, contribute, come out different in some way. Bottom line, wherever you are in the matter is wherever you are supposed to be. Trust that and trust yourself.
During this episode we will explore creating yourself vs. finding yourself.  It’s about choice and action all along the way.

Here are the highlights from this episode:

{0:55} Being who you are authentically
{4:21} Wanting someone else’s life
{7:51} Having the power to choose and act
{12:14} Leaning in to your Champion
{15:01} Taking responsibility for who and where we are
{17:40} Some helpful daily practices
