Ep 014:
With Brad Mobeck & Chris Mobeck I have often been told, “your boys must have loved growing up with you as a Coach”. My response is, “you might want to ask them that question”, with an immediate giggle that followed. Today I thought it would be fun to invite them to tell their story on what it was like to be a kid and teenager growing up with a Mom as leadership coach, being fully immersed in leadership principles every single day. You might say we all grew up as leadership coaches together, because let me tell you, they don’t hesitate to hold me accountable, call me on my “stuff”, hold me to my word, and being the best version of me, even when I don’t feel like it! I’ve said it before and I will say it again, they are my greatest teachers and coaches, and I am so incredibly blessed and grateful to be their Mom. They are amazing young men, and I know you will love hearing their perspective. Here are the highlights from this episode: {4:19} The key to coaching {6:24} Introducing my kids {7:59} The burning question {16:31} The power of accountability {27:51} Leadership and listening {34:43} Understanding other point of views Let us know about any questions you have in life and what you would love to hear more about. Episode 013:
How many of you say to yourself “I don’t’ like change” I hear that a lot in my profession, however I will tell you change is one of the very things you can be certainly certain is going to happen. We resist change, because it’s uncomfortable or perhaps we make up not safe. In today’s episode we are going to explore the Stages of Change, and how we can use this model to embrace change because like it or not, change is always happening, so let’s make the best of it. You have a choice to lean into change or not, and wouldn’t it be more fun to move through it in a way that you embrace it, learn from it, from a neutral place, and not let it get the best of you. Life is a roller coaster, there is uncertainty, our brain doesn’t love uncertainty, and will work hard to make sense of it. Let go of resistance, lean in to curiosity, remember life happens for us and not to us, and we can create an experience of change that may just be very different than what we expected. Curious? Let’s go embrace change in today’s episode. Here are the highlights from this episode: {1:11} The stages of change model {5:41} The 5 stages {8:02} Why we resist change {12:22} The challenge to embrace change {14:47} Three powerful questions Want to listen and learn more? Episode 012
With Joan Virginia Allen You have heard me say before that leaders don’t wait, they create. We have the opportunity every single day to get out in the world and create whatever we want in our lives both personally and professionally. You first have to believe you can, that is the first step and then second you must ask yourself, will I? Will I really? As a little girl my Dad was one of my heroes, he was 100% self-made, and he lived every day to the fullest, he taught me, you can, the question is always “will you”. He instilled in me and my brothers that “age is just a number”, and you are only as old as you decide to feel”, and I have believed that every day since then. Today we get to hear from someone who for me is 100% the very example of what my Dad told me, she amazes me in what she has created in her life and continues to each and every day. Not only her story, also what she does to make a difference in people’s lives will illuminate that leaders don’t wait, they create, and age is never a barrier. I am so excited for you to meet Joan Virginia Allen, who is an author, a personal trainer, a coach, and so much more. You will walk away wanting to climb and swing from trees, and we encourage it, have some fun!
