Episode 032
With Jenny Ponzuric

I can’t believe we are at the end of November, heading straight into the holidays, year-end, and looking forward to 2021, and I don’t know about you, but I am really looking forward to a new year.  Today we are going to be talking with Jenny Ponzuric who is going to assist us with utilizing our time efficiently through planning and organization, and I know personally when implementing the strategies we talk about today, you will have less stress going into the holidays and be ready, excited, and have the capacity to take on your business and personal goals in 2021!

Leaders don’t wait, they create.  And so that means we must have a plan, use our time efficiently, and stay organized.  This way we elevate unnecessary stress, procrastination, overwhelm, and we get to focus on the projects, programs, clients, etc. that really jazz us up.  We get to stay true to our purpose, passions, and the vision that we have for our self, our business, in our careers, and also our self-improvement.  I remember earlier this year shortly after launching this podcast, as well as working on a few other programs, I just stopped in my tracks.  You know you don’t know what you don’t know, and I had planned some big things for 2020, and was not anticipating a global pandemic.  I was feeling incredibly stressed and declared out loud “I NEED HELP”, I was feeling scattered, unorganized and couldn’t plan the next day to save my life.  I reached out to Jenny and got myself back on track with her support.  I can coach others, but not myself, and had lost touch, and needed to re-set.

Jenny Ponzuric is the founder of Ponzuric Learning Solutions and is passionate about helping people learn about their own brains, help them work with their strengths and also their area of needs.  She is a LEP, a School Neuropsychologist, and a Certified Relationship Coach, and has helped support those that struggle with learning for over 20 years.

Lesson From America's Favorite Pastime & Introducing our NEW Program LIFt

Episode 030
Launching TODAY our NEW Program LIFt

Today we are going to explore lessons from one of America’s favorite pastime, well it’s one of mine anyway, and with the recent champions of the World Series, my boys in blue the LA Dodgers, it inspired this episode.  I am also going to share a really exciting program that is launching NOW, LIFt the Leadership Impact Forum training, and an incredible opportunity for us to work together.

Baseball is a beautiful game when played well: the pivot at second base during a double play, a two-hit shut-out and the grand slam! Leadership is also a beautiful thing to behold when it is done from a win/win stance, where long-term relationships are built on mutual interests and the leader and their circle of influence are creating the results they want in their life. In baseball, you've got to let go of first base to round the bases for the score. The same is true as a leader. Leave your comfort zone and create the score!

In order to play a bigger game and get the results you want in life; you must leave your comfort zone.  I feel an incredible calling to launch a program that I am incredibly passionate about, and that is LIFt; Leadership Impact Forum training.

In this 10-week program you will have the opportunity to work with an intimate cohort of people who are working on their leadership and where they want to create change.  Are you an entrepreneur, are you a leader in your organization, are you an individual called to something bigger than you?  This program is for you!  Do you question if you are a leader?  This program is for you.  Because we are in virtual times, this program is virtual, and the gift in this? It will not only be national it will be GLOBAL!  It will have room for people from all walks of life, and I get goosebumps thinking about that kind of impact, what about you?

I Hear You with Janine Hamner Holman

Episode 029
With
Janine Hamner Holman

Empathy is the ability to be with people in a way that honors their perspective, feeling their feelings with them, staying out of judgement, recognizing emotions and being able to communicate their emotion.
It truly requires us to seek to understand before being understood over and over and over again.
Why is empathy important? Because it drives connection, in today’s world we are crying out for more connection, more understanding and more action.
Empathy is truly about being with people from a place of vulnerability, and we don’t always do that naturally, because society dictates that if we are vulnerable or tap into our emotions, then we must be weak.  True vulnerability is a world class value of leadership, and one of the most challenging to access, but it is the one that drives true relationship and connection, because people feel heard at a deep level.  When human beings connect, there is so much more possibility to create strong partnerships.

Our guest today is going to share with us some amazing information on Empathy and learning more about it through Emotional Intelligence.  So many great nuggets you will take away today and be able to apply.  Janine Hamner Holman is an internationally recognized speaker and expert on leadership development, organizational management, how our brains work, and what it takes to attract and retain world-class talent.  As CEO of the J&J Consulting Group, Janine brings more than 30 years’ experience to the stage for her workshops and trainings.  Janine uses scientifically validated strategies and tools to build high performance teams, enhance organizational functioning, and develop organizations and leaders with whom everyone wants to work.  She has worked with everything from Fortune 200 companies to local non-profits that are not merely interested in but committed to uncovering and solving the challenges they face at the root cause level.

How Did You Sleep Last Night? With Dr. Andrea Matsumura, M.D.

Episode 028
With Dr. Andrea Matsumura, M.D.

As a leader, self-care is a non-negotiable. We can’t contribute to others if we are not taking care of ourselves, and sleep is one of the most important components of that. It affects us in our day to day action.

If you ask my clients, we have all talked about self-care and sleep at one point or another.  I am really passionate about this subject because there was a time in my life that I began really unhealthy sleep habits and kept pushing through.  You’ve heard “sleep is overrated”, “you can sleep when you are dead”, well I made up a self-limiting belief that if I didn’t keep pushing through, producing more, then I wasn’t really a leader!  Um, what??!!!  I’m here to tell you right here, right now, that is complete baloney.  And the lack of sleep contributed to some pretty serious health problems, that I got to take on.  I promise when you take care of you, let your body rejuvenate, you will have all the time you need.

Today our guest is Dr. Andrea Matsumura, M.D, and she is going to assist us in demystifying “daylight savings”, share with us some amazing sleep practices, and assist us with staying healthy during this pandemic.  Dr. Andrea Matsumura was born in San Antonio Texas and attended the University of Texas health science Center in San Antonio for medical school. She had a desire to explore and thought she was an east coaster for sure. Little did she know when she did an externship as a fourth-year medical student in Oregon that she would fall in love with the West Coast and all things involving the outdoors. She quickly switched gears and ended up finishing her internal medicine residency in Portland Oregon.

She worked as a hospitalist for a few years and moved into the outpatient care setting as a primary care physician. It was there that her spark for the love of sleep medicine started. While trying to manage chronic medical conditions she quickly realized that sleep is the juggernaut for wellness.  She went on to complete a fellowship in sleep medicine at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU).

Dr. Matsumura describes herself as a holistic sleep medicine physician and enjoys public speaking on all things sleep.  Sleep is a vital sign that has yet to be discovered as the key for how everything else is managed in one’s life.
